Ayah Study

That is because Allâh, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides Him<sup foot_note=154803>1</sup> is Al-Bâtil (falsehood, Satan and all other false deities); and that Allâh, He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Art thou not aware that it is God who makes the night grow longer by shortening the day, and makes the day grow longer by shortening the night, and that He has made the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws], each running its course for a term set [by Him] – and that God is fully aware of all that you do?

یہ اس لئے کہ خدا کی ذات برحق ہے اور جن کو یہ لوگ خدا کے سوا پکارتے ہیں وہ لغو ہیں اور یہ کہ خدا ہی عالی رتبہ اور گرامی قدر ہے

{ ذَلِكَ } الذي بين لكم من عظمته وصفاته، ما بيَّن { بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ } في ذاته وفي صفاته، ودينه حق، ورسله حق، ووعده حق، ووعيده حق، وعبادته هي الحق.{ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ الْبَاطِلُ } في ذاته وصفاته، فلولا إيجاد اللّه له لما وجد، ولولا إمداده لَمَا بَقِيَ، فإذا كان باطلا، كانت عبادته أبطل وأبطل.{ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ } بذاته، فوق جميع مخلوقاته، الذي علت صفاته، أن يقاس بها صفات أحد من الخلق، وعلا على الخلق فقهرهم { الْكَبِيرُ } الذي له الكبرياء في ذاته وصفاته، وله الكبرياء في قلوب أهل السماء والأرض.

ذلك كله من عظيم قدرتي؛ لتعلموا وتقروا أن الله هو الحق في ذاته وصفاته، وأفعاله، وأن ما يدعون من دونه الباطل، وأن الله هو العلي بذاته وقَدْره وقهره فوق جميع مخلوقاته، الكبير على كل شيء، وكل ما عداه خاضع له، فهو وحده المستحق أن يُعبد دون مَن سواه.

وقوله تعالى "ذلك بأن الله هو الحق وأن ما يدعون من دونه الباطل" أي إنما يظهر لكم آياته لتستدلوا بها على أنه الحق أي الموجود الحق الإله الحق وأن كل ما سواه باطل فإنه الغني عما سواه وكل شيء فقير إليه لأن كل ما في السماوات والأرض الجميع خلقه وعبيده لا يقدر أحد منهم على تحريك ذرة إلا بإذنه ولو اجتمع كل أهل الأرض على أن يخلقوا ذبابا لعجزوا عن ذلك ولهذا قال تعالى "ذلك بأن الله هو الحق وأن ما يدعون من دونه الباطل وأن الله هو العلي الكبير" أي العلي الذي لا أعلى منه الكبير الذي هو أكبر من كل شيء فكل شيء خاضع حقير بالنسبة إليه.

The Might and Power of Allah Allah tells us that He يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِى النَّهَارِ (merges the night into the day,) meaning, He takes from the night and adds to the day, so that the day becomes longer and the night shorter, which is what happens in summer when the days are longest; then the day starts to become shorter and the night longer, which is what happens in winter. وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى (and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for a term appointed;) It was said that this means, each runs within its set limits, or it means until the Day of Resurrection; both meanings are correct. The first view is supported by the Hadith of Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, in the Two Sahihs, according to which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «يَا أَبَا ذَرَ أَتَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ هَذِهِ الشَّمْسُ؟» (O Abu Dharr! Do you know where this sun goes) I (Abu Dharr) said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: «فَإِنَّهَا تَذْهَبُ فَتَسْجُدُ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ، ثُمَّ تَسْتَأْذِنُ رَبَّهَا فَيُوشِكُ أَنْ يُقَالَ لَهَا: ارْجِعِي مِنْ حَيْثُ جِئْت» (It goes and prostrates beneath the Throne, then it seeks permission from its Lord, and soon it will be said: "Go back from whence you came.") Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, "The sun is like flowing water, running in its course in the sky during the day. When it sets, it travels in its course beneath the earth until it rises in the east." He said, "The same is true in the case of the moon." Its chain of narration is Sahih. وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ (and that Allah is All-Aware of what you do.) This is like the Ayah, أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمَآءِ وَالاٌّرْضِ (Know you not that Allah knows all that is in the heaven and the earth) (22:70). The meaning is that Allah is the Creator Who knows all things, as He says: اللَّهُ الَّذِى خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَـوَتٍ وَمِنَ الاٌّرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ (It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof) (65:12). ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ الْبَـطِلُ (That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides Him is falsehood;) means, He shows you His Signs so that you may know from them that He is the Truth, i.e., He truly exists and is truly divine, and that all else besides Him is falsehood. He has no need of anything else, but everything else is dependent on Him, because everything in heaven and on earth is created by Him and is enslaved by Him; none of them could move even an atom's weight except with His permission. If all the people of heaven and earth were to come together to create a fly, they would not be able to do so. Allah says: ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ الْبَـطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْكَبِيرُ (That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides Him is falsehood; and that Allah, He is the Most High, the Most Great.) meaning, He is the Most High and there is none higher than Him, and He is the Most Great Who is greater than everything. Everything is subjugated and insignificant in comparison to Him.

اس کے سامنے پر چیز حقیر وپست ہے رات کو کچھ گھٹا کر دن کو کچھ بڑھانے والا اور دن کو کچھ گھٹاکر رات کو کچھ بڑھانے والا اللہ تعالیٰ ہی ہے۔ جاڑوں کے دن چھوٹے اور راتیں بڑی گرمیوں کے دن بڑے اور راتیں چھوٹی اسی کی قدرت کا ظہور ہے سورج چاند اسی کے تحت فرمان ہیں۔ جو جگہ مقرر ہے وہیں چلتے ہیں قیامت تک برابر اسی چال چلتے رہیں گے اپنی جگہ سے ادھر ادھر نہیں ہوسکتے۔ بخاری ومسلم میں ہے حضور ﷺ نے حضرت ابوذر ؓ سے دریافت کیا کہ جانتے ہو یہ سورج کہاں جاتا ہے ؟ جواب دیا کہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول خوب جانتے ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا یہ جاکر اللہ کے عرش کے نیچے سجدے میں گرپڑتا ہے اور اپنے رب سے اجازت چاہتا ہے قریب ہے کہ ایک دن اس سے کہہ دیا جائے کہ جہاں سے آیا ہے وہیں لوٹ جا ابن عباس ؓ کا قول ہے کہ سورج بمنزلہ ساقیہ کے ہے دن کو اپنے دوران میں جاری رہتا ہے غروب ہو کر رات کو پھر زمین کے نیچے گردش میں رہتا ہے یہاں تک کہ اپنی مشرق سے ہی طلوع ہوتا ہے۔ اسی طرح چاند بھی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہارے اعمال سے خبردار ہے جیسے فرمان ہے کیا تو نہیں جانتا کہ زمین آسمان میں جو کچھ ہے سب اللہ کے علم میں ہے سب کا خالق سب کا عالم اللہ ہی ہے جیسے ارشاد ہے اللہ نے سات آسمان پیدا کئے اور انہی کے مثال زمینیں بنائیں۔ یہ نشانیاں پروردگار عالم اس لئے ظاہر فرماتا ہے کہ تم ان سے اللہ کے حق وجود پر ایمان لاؤ اور اسکے سوا سب کو باطل مانو۔ وہ سب سے بےنیاز اور بےپرواہ ہے سب کے سب اس کے محتاج اور اس کے در کے فقیر ہیں۔ سب اس کی مخلوق اور اس کے غلام ہیں۔ کسی کو ایک ذرے کے حرکت میں لانے کی قدرت نہیں۔ گو ساری مخلوق مل کر ارادہ کرلے کہ ایک مکھی پیدا کریں سب عاجز آجائیں گے اور ہرگز اتنی قدرت بھی نہ پائیں گے۔ وہ سب سے بلند ہے جس پر کوئی چیز نہیں۔ وہ سب سے بڑا ہے جس کے سامنے کسی کو کوئی بڑائی نہیں۔ ہر چیز اس کے سامنے حقیر اور پست ہے۔
