Ayah Study

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Tell me! If Allâh made the day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, which ilâh (god) besides Allâh could bring you night wherein you rest? Will you not then see?"

But as against this – anyone who repents and attains to faith and does righteous deeds may well [hope to] find himself among those who achieve a happy state [in the life to come]

کہو تو بھلا دیکھو تو اگر خدا تم پر ہمیشہ قیامت تک دن کئے رہے تو خدا کے سوا کون معبود ہے کہ تم کو رات لا دے جس میں تم آرام کرو۔ تو کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں؟

ولو جعل { عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ } مواقع العبر، ومواضع الآيات، فتستنير بصائركم، وتسلكوا الطريق المستقيم.وقال في الليل { أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ } وفي النهار { أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ } لأن سلطان السمع أبلغ في الليل من سلطان البصر، وعكسه النهار. وفي هذه الآيات، تنبيه إلى أن العبد ينبغي له أن يتدبر نعم اللّه عليه، ويستبصر فيها، ويقيسها بحال عدمها، فإنه إذا وازن بين حالة وجودها، وبين حالة عدمها، تنبه عقله لموضع المنة، بخلاف من جرى مع العوائد، ورأى أن هذا أمر لم يزل مستمرا، ولا يزال. وعمي قلبه عن الثناء على اللّه، بنعمه، ورؤية افتقاره إليها في كل وقت، فإن هذا لا يحدث له فكرة شكر ولا ذكر.

قل لهم: أخبروني إن جعل الله عليكم النهار دائمًا إلى يوم القيامة، مَن إله غير الله يأتيكم بليل تستقرون وتهدؤون فيه؟ أفلا ترون بأبصاركم اختلاف الليل والنهار؟

أخبر تعالى أنه لو جعل النهار سرمدا أي دائما مستمرا إلى يوم القيامة لأضر ذلك بهم ولتعبت الأبدان وكلت من كثرة الحركات والأشغال ولهذا قال تعالى: "من إله غير الله يأتيكم بليل تسكنون فيه" أي تستريحون من حركاتكم وأشغالكم "أفلا تبصرون".

Night and Day are among the Blessings of Allah and are Signs of Tawhid Allah reminds His servants of His favors towards them by subjugating for them the night and day, without which they could not survive. He explains that if He made the night continuous, lasting until the Day of Resurrection, that would be harmful for them and would cause boredom and stress. So He says: مَنْ إِلَـهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِضِيَآءٍ (which god besides Allah could bring you light) meaning, `with which you could see things and which would bring you relief' أَفَلاَ تَسْمَعُونَ (Will you not then hear) Then Allah tells us that if He had made the day continuous, lasting until the Day of Resurrection, that would also be harmful for them and their bodies would get tired from so much movement and activity. Allah says: مَنْ إِلَـهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ (which god besides Allah could bring you night wherein you rest) meaning, `to rest from your work and activity.' أَفلاَ تُبْصِرُونَوَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِ (Will you not then see It is out of His mercy) towards you, جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ (that He has made for you the night and the day) He created both, لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ (that you may rest therein) during the night, وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِ (and that you may seek of His bounty) during the day, by traveling, moving about and working. وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ (and in order that you may be grateful.) So that you may give thanks to Allah by performing all kinds of acts of worship at night and during the day. Whoever misses something during the night can make it up during the day, and vice versa. This is like the Ayah, وَهُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُوراً (And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude.) (25:62). And there are many similar Ayat.

سنی ان سنی نہ کرو اللہ کا احسان دیکھو کہ بغیر تمہاری کوشش اور تدبیر کے دن اور رات برابر آگے پیچھے آرہے ہیں اگر رات ہی رات رہے تو تم عاجز آجاؤ تمہارے کام رک جائیں تم پر زندگی وبال ہوجائے تم تھک جاؤ اکتاجاؤ کسی کو نہ پاؤ جو تمہارے لئے دن نکال سکے کہ تم اس کی روشنی میں چلو پھرو، دیکھو بھالو اپنے کام کاج کرلو۔ افسوس تم سنا کر بھی بےسناکر دیتے ہو۔ اسی طرح اگر وہ تم پر دن ہی دن کو روک دے رات آئے ہی نہیں تو بھی تمہاری زندگی تلخ ہوجائے۔ بدن کا نظام الٹ پلٹ ہوجائے تھک جاؤ تنگ ہوجاؤ کوئی نہیں جسے قدرت ہو کہ وہ رات لاسکے جس میں تم راحت وآرام حاصل کرسکو لیکن تم آنکھیں رکھتے ہوئے اللہ کی ان نشانیوں اور مہربانیوں کو دیکھتے ہی نہیں ہو۔ یہ بھی اس کا احسان ہے کہ اس نے دن رات دونوں پیدا کردئیے ہیں کہ رات کو تمہیں سکون وآرام حاصل ہو اور دن کو تم کام کاج تجارت ذراعت سفر شغل کرسکو۔ تمہیں چاہئے کہ تم اس مالک حقیقی اس قادر مطلق کا شکر ادا کرو رات کو اس کی عبادتیں کرو رات کے قصور کی تلافی دن میں اور دن کے قصور کی تلافی رات میں کرلیا کرو۔ یہ مختلف چیزیں قدرت کے نمونے ہیں اور اس لئے ہیں کہ تم نصیحت وعبرت سیکھو اور رب کا شکر کرو۔
