Ayah Study

(Khidr) said: "This is the parting between me and you, I will tell you the interpretation of (those) things over which you were unable to hold patience.

And so the two went on, till, when they met a young man, [the sage] slew him – [whereupon Moses] exclaimed: Hast thou slain an innocent human being without [his having taken] another man’s life? Indeed, thou hast done a terrible thing!

خضر نے کہا اب مجھ میں اور تجھ میں علیحدگی۔ (مگر) جن باتوں پر تم صبر نہ کرسکے میں ان کا تمہیں بھید بتائے دیتا ہوں

{ هَذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنِكَ ْ} فإنك شرطت ذلك على نفسك، فلم يبق الآن عذر، ولا موضع للصحبة، { سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ عَلَيْهِ صَبْرًا ْ} أي: سأخبرك بما أنكرت عليَّ، وأنبئك بما لي في ذلك من المآرب، وما يئول إليه الأمر.

قال الخَضِر لموسى: هذا وقت الفراق بيني وبينك، سأخبرك بما أنكرت عليَّ من أفعالي التي فعلتها، والتي لم تستطع صبرًا على ترك السؤال عنها والإنكار عليَّ فيها.

" قال هذا فراق بيني وبينك " أي لأنك شرطت عند قتل الغلام أنك إن سألتني عن شيء بعدها فلا تصاحبني فهو فراق بيني وبينك " سأنبئك بتأويل " أي بتفسير ما لم تستطع عليه صبرا.

The Story of repairing the Wall Allah tells us that فَانطَلَقَا (they both proceeded) after the first two instances, حَتَّى إِذَآ أَتَيَآ أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ (till when they came to the people of a town,) Ibn Jarir narrated from Ibn Sirin that this was Al-Aylah. According to the Hadith; «حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَيَا أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ لِئَامًا» (When they came there, the people of the town were mean.) i.e., miserly اسْتَطْعَمَآ أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْاْ أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَاراً يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ (they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found therein a wall about to collapse and he (Khidr) set it up straight.) means, he fixed it so it was standing upright properly. We have already seen in the Hadith quoted above that he set it up with his own hands, supporting it until it was standing straight again, which is something extraordinary. At this point Musa said to him: لَوْ شِئْتَ لاَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْراً (If you had wished, surely you could have taken wages for it!) meaning, because they did not entertain us as guests, you should not have worked for them for free. قَالَ هَـذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنِكَ (He said: "This is the parting between you and I) meaning, because you said after the boy was killed that if you asked me anything after that, you would not accompany me any further. So this is the parting of the ways between me and you. سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ (I will tell you the interpretation) meaning explanation, مَا لَمْ تَسْطِـع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْراً (of (those) things over which you were not able to be patient.)

ایک اور انوکھی بات۔دو دفعہ کے اس واقعہ کے بعد پھر دونوں صاحب مل کر چلے اور ایک بستی میں پہنچے مروی ہے وہ بستی ایک تھی یہاں کے لوگ بڑے ہی بخیل تھے۔ انتہا یہ کہ دو بھوکے مسافروں کے طلب کرنے پر انہوں نے روٹی کھلانے سے بھی صاف انکار کردیا۔ وہاں دیکھتے ہیں کہ ایک دیوار گرنا ہی چاہتی ہے، جگہ چھوڑ چکی ہے، جھک پڑی ہے۔ دیوار کی طرف ارادے کی اسناد بطور استعارہ کے ہے۔ اسے دیکھتے ہی کمرکس کر لگ گئے اور دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے اسے مضبوط کردیا اور بالکل درست کردیا پہلے حدیث بیان ہوچکی ہے کہ آپ نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے اسے لوٹا دیا۔ زخم ٹھیک ہوگیا اور دیوار درست بن گئی۔ اس وقت پھر کلیم اللہ ؑ بول اٹھے کہ سبحان اللہ ان لوگوں نے تو ہمیں کھانے تک کو نہ پوچھا بلکہ مانگنے پر بھاگ گئے۔ اب جو تم نے ان کی یہ مزدوری کردی اس پر کچھ اجرت کیوں نہ لے لی جو بالکل ہمارا حق تھا ؟ اس وقت وہ بندہ الہٰی بول اٹھے لو صاحب اب مجھ میں اور آپ میں حسب معاہدہ خود جدائی ہوگئی۔ کیونکہ بچے کے قتل پر آپ نے سوال کیا تھا اس وقت جب میں نے آپ کو اس غلطی پر متنبہ کیا تھا تو آپ نے خود ہی کہا تھا کہ اب اگر کسی بات کو پوچھوں تو مجھے اپنے ساتھ سے الگ کردینا اب سنو جن باتوں پر آپ نے تعجب سے سوال کیا اور برداشت نہ کرسکے ان کی اصلی حکمت آپ پر ظاہر کئے دیتا ہوں۔
