Ayah Study

(They are) those who remained patient (in this world for Allâh’s sake), and put their trust in their Lord (Allâh Alone).

Even thus did behave those [stubborn sinners] who lived before their time; and [when they were destroyed,] it was not God who wronged them, but it was they who had wronged themselves:

یعنی وہ لوگ جو صبر کرتے ہیں اور اپنے پروردگار پر بھروسا رکھتے ہیں

ثم ذكر وصف أوليائه فقال: { الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا ْ} على أوامر الله وعن نواهيه، وعلى أقدار الله المؤلمة، وعلى الأذية فيه والمحن { وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ْ} أي: يعتمدون عليه في تنفيذ محابّه، لا على أنفسهم. وبذلك تنجح أمورهم وتستقيم أحوالهم، فإن الصبر والتوكل ملاك الأمور كلها، فما فات أحدا شيء من الخير إلا لعدم صبره وبذل جهده فيما أريد منه، أو لعدم توكله واعتماده على الله.

هؤلاء المهاجرون في سبيل الله هم الذين صبروا على أوامر الله وعن نواهيه وعلى أقداره المؤلمة، وعلى ربهم وحده يعتمدون، فاستحقوا هذه المنزلة العظيمة.

ثم وصفهم تعالى فقال "الذين صبروا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون" أي صبروا على الأذى من قومهم متوكلين على الله الذي أحسن لهم العاقبة في الدنيا والآخرة.

The Reward of the Muhajirin Allah tells us about the reward of those who migrated for His sake, seeking His pleasure, those who left their homeland behind, brothers and friends, hoping for the reward of Allah. This may have been revealed concerning those who migrated to Ethiopia, those whose persecution at the hands of their own people in Makkah was so extreme that they left them and went to Ethiopia so that they would be able to worship their Lord. Among the most prominent of these migrants were `Uthman bin `Affan and his wife Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Ja`far bin Abi Talib, the cousin of the Messenger ﷺ, and Abu Salamah bin `Abdul-Asad, among a group of almost eighty sincere and faithful men and women, may Allah be pleased with them. Allah promised them a great reward in this world and the next. Allah said: لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَة (We will certainly give them good residence in this world,) Ibn `Abbas, Ash-Sha`bi and Qatadah said: (this means) "Al-Madinah." It was also said that it meant "good provision". This was the opinion of Mujahid. There is no contradiction between these two opinions, for they left their homes and wealth, but Allah compensated them with something better in this world. Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah compensates him with something that is better for him than that, and this is what happened. He gave them power throughout the land and caused them to rule over the people, so they became governors and rulers, and each of them became a leader of the pious. Allah tells us that His reward for the Muhajirin in the Hereafter is greater than that which He gave them in this world, as He says: وَلاّجْرُ الاٌّخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ (but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater) meaning, greater than that which We have given you in this world. لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ (if they but knew!) means, if those who stayed behind and did not migrate with them only knew what Allah prepared for those who obeyed Him and followed His Messenger . Then Allah describes them as: الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ (those who remained patient, and put their trust in their Lord.) (16:42), meaning, they bore their people's persecution with patience, putting their trust in Allah Who made their end good in this world and the Hereafter.

دین کی پاسبانی میں ہجرت جو لوگ اللہ کی راہ میں ترک وطن کر کے، دوست، احباب، رشتے دار، کنبے تجارت کو اللہ کے نام پر ترک کر کے دین ربانی کی پاسبانی میں ہجرت کر جاتے ہیں ان کے اجر بیان ہو رہے ہیں کہ دونوں جہان میں یہ اللہ کے ہاں معزز و محترم ہیں۔ بہت ممکن ہے کہ سبب نزول اس کا مہاجرین حبش ہوں جو مکہ میں مشرکین کی سخت ایذائیں سہنے کے بعد ہجرت کر کے حبش چلے گئے کہ آزادی سے دین حق پر عامل رہیں۔ ان کے بہترین لوگ یہ تھے حضرت عثمان بن عفان ؓ آپ کے ساتھ آپ کی بیوی صاحبہ حضرت رقیہ ؓ بھی تھیں جو رسول اللہ ﷺ کی صاحبزادی تھیں اور حضرت جعفر بن ابی طالب ؓ جو رسول اللہ ﷺ کے چچا زاد بھائی تھے اور حضرت ابو سلمہ بن عبد الاسد ؓ وغیرہ۔ قریب قریب اسی آدمی تھے مرد بھی عورتیں بھی جو سب صدیق اور صدیقہ تھے اللہ ان سب سے خوش ہو اور انہیں بھی خوش رکھے۔ پس اللہ تعالیٰ ایسے سچے لوگوں سے وعدہ فرماتا ہے کہ انہیں وہ اچھی جگہ عنایت فرمائے گا۔ جیسے مدینہ اور پاک روزی، مال کا بھی بدلہ ملا اور وطن کا بھی۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ جو شخص اللہ کے خوف سے جیسی چیز کو چھوڑے اللہ تعالیٰ اسی جیسی بلکہ اس سے کہیں بہتر، پاک اور حلال چیز اسے عطا فرماتا ہے۔ ان غریب الوطن مہاجرین کو دیکھئے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں حاکم و بادشاہ کردیا اور دنیا پر ان کو سلطنت عطا کی۔ ابھی آخرت کا اجر وثواب باقی ہے۔ پس ہجرت سے جان چرانے والے مہاجرین کے ثواب سے واقف ہوتے تو ہجرت میں سبقت کرتے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ حضرت فاروق اعظم ؓ سے خوش ہو کہ آپ جب کبھی کسی مہاجر کو اس کا حصہ غنیمت وغیرہ دیتے تو فرماتے لو اللہ تمہیں برکت دے یہ تو دنیا کا اللہ کا وعدہ ہے اور ابھی اجر آخرت جو بہت عظیم الشان ہے، باقی ہے۔ پھر اسی آیت مبارک کی تلاوت کرتے۔ ان پاکباز لوگوں کا اور وصف بیان فرماتا ہے کہ جو تکلیفیں اللہ کی راہ میں انہیں پہنچتی ہیں یہ انہیں جھیل لیتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ پر جو انہیں توکل ہے، اس میں کبھی فرق نہیں آتا، اسی لئے دونوں جہان کی بھلائیاں یہ لوگ اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے سمیٹ لیتے ہیں۔
