Ayah Study

He said: "Can I entrust him to you except as I entrusted his brother [Yûsuf (Joseph)] to you aforetime? But Allâh is the Best to guard, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy."

Thereupon, when they opened their packs, they discovered that their merchandise had been returned to them; [and] they said: O our father! What more could we desire? Here is our merchandise: it has been returned to us! [If thou send Benjamin with us,] we shall [again] be able to bring food for our family, and shall guard our brother [well], and receive in addition another camel-load of grain. That [which we have brought the first time] was but a scanty measure.

(یعقوب نے) کہا کہ میں اس کے بارے میں تمہارا اعتبار نہیں کرتا مگر ویسا ہی جیسا اس کے بھائی کے بارے میں کیا تھا۔ سو خدا ہی بہتر نگہبان ہے۔ اور وہ سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والا ہے

{ قَالَ } لهم يعقوب عليه السلام: { هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كَمَا أَمِنْتُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ } أي: تقدم منكم التزام، أكثر من هذا في حفظ يوسف، ومع هذا لم تفوا بما عقدتم من التأكيد، فلا أثق بالتزامكم وحفظكم، وإنما أثق بالله تعالى. { فَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ حَافِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ } أي: يعلم حالي، وأرجو أن يرحمني، فيحفظه ويرده علي، وكأنه في هذا الكلام قد لان لإرساله معهم.

قال لهم أبوهم: كيف آمنكم على "بنيامين" وقد أمنتكم على أخيه يوسف من قبل، والتزمتم بحفظه فلم تفوا بذلك؟ فلا أثق بالتزامكم وحفظكم، ولكني أثق بحفظ الله، خير الحافظين وأرحم الراحمين، أرجو أن يرحمني فيحفظه ويرده عليَّ.

ولهذا قال لهم " هل آمنكم عليه إلا كما أمنتكم على أخيه من قبل " أي هل أنتم صانعون به إلا كما صنعتم بأخيه من قبل تغيبونه عني وتحولون بيني وبينه؟ " فالله خير حافظا " وقرأ بعضهم حفظا " وهو أرحم الراحمين " أي هو أرحم الراحمين بى وسيرحم كبري وضعفي ووجدي بولدي وأرجو من الله أن يرده علي ويجمع شملي به إنه أرحم الراحمين.

Yusuf's Brothers ask Ya`qub's Permission to send Their Brother Binyamin with Them to Egypt Allah says that when they went back to their father, قَالُواْ يأَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا الْكَيْلُ (they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get...") `after this time, unless you send our brother Binyamin with us. So send him with us, and we shall get our measure and we shall certainly guard him.' Some scholars read this Ayah in a way that means, `and he shall get his ration.' They said, وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَـفِظُونَ (and truly, we will guard him.), `do not fear for his safety, for he will be returned back to you.' This is what they said to Ya`qub about their brother Yusuf, أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَداً يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَـفِظُونَ ("Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and verily, we will take care of him.") 12:12 This is why Prophet Ya`qub said to them, هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ كَمَآ أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ (Can I entrust him to you except as I entrusted his brother Yusuf to you aforetime) He asked them, `Will you do to him except what you did to his brother Yusuf before, when you took him away from me and separated me from him' فَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ حَـفِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَحِمِينَ (But Allah is the Best to guard, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.) Ya`qub said, `Allah has the most mercy with me among all those who show mercy, He is compassionate with me for my old age, feebleness and eagerness for my son. I invoke Allah to return him to me, and to allow him and I to be together; for surely, He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.'

بیان ہو رہا ہے کہ باپ کے پاس پہنچ کر انہوں کہا کہ اب ہمیں تو غلہ مل نہیں سکتا تاوقتیکہ آپ ہمارے ساتھ ہمارے بھائی کو نہ بھجیں اگر انہیں ساتھ کردیں تو البتہ مل سکتا ہے آپ بےفکر رہئے ہم اس کی نگہبانی کرلیں گے نکتل کی دوسری قرأت یکتل بھی ہے۔ حضرت یعقوب ؑ نے فرمایا کہ بس وہی تم ان کے ساتھ کرو گے جو اس سے پہلے ان کے بھائی حضرت یوسف ؑ کے ساتھ کرچکے ہو کہ یہاں سے لے گئے اور یہاں پہنچ کر کوئی بات بنادی۔ حافظاکی دوسری قرأت حفظا بھی ہے آپ فرماتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ہی بہترین حافظ اور نگہبان ہے اور ہے بھی وہ ارحم الراحمین میرے بڑھاپے پر میری کمزوری پر رحم فرمائے گا اور جو غم و رنج مجھے اپنے بچے کا ہے وہ دور کر دے گا۔ مجھے اس کی پاک ذات سے امید ہے کہ وہ میرے یوسف کو مجھ سے پھر ملا دے گا اور میری پراگندگی کو دور کر دے گا۔ اس پر کوئی کام مشکل نہیں وہ اپنے بندوں سے اپنے رحم وکرم کو نہیں روکتا۔
