Ayah Study

Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and the earth," but neither Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) nor warners benefit those who believe not.

And [thereafter], indeed, We assigned unto the children of Israel a most goodly abode, and provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life. And it was not until knowledge [of God’s revelation] was vouchsafed to them that they began to hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all on which they were wont to differ.

(ان کفار سے) کہو دیکھو تو زمین اور آسمانوں میں کیا کچھ ہے۔ مگر جو لوگ ایمان نہیں رکھتے ان کی نشانیاں اور ڈرواے کچھ کام نہیں آتے

يدعو تعالى عباده إلى النظر لما في السماوات والأرض، والمراد بذلك: نظر الفكر والاعتبار والتأمل، لما فيها، وما تحتوي عليه، والاستبصار، فإن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يؤمنون، وعبرًا لقوم يوقنون، تدل على أن الله وحده، المعبود المحمود، ذو الجلال والإكرام، والأسماء والصفات العظام. { وَمَا تُغْنِي الْآيَاتُ وَالنُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ْ} فإنهم لا ينتفعون بالآيات لإعراضهم وعنادهم.

قل -أيها الرسول- لقومك: تفكروا واعتبروا بما في السموات والأرض من آيات الله البينات، ولكن الآيات والعبر والرسل المنذرة عباد الله عقابه، لا تنفع قومًا لا يؤمنون بشيء من ذلك؛ لإعراضهم وعنادهم.

يرشد تعالى عباده إلى التفكر في آلائه وما خلق الله في السموات والأرض من الآيات الباهرة لذوي الألباب مما في السموات من كواكب نيرات ثوابت وسيارات; والشمس والقمر والليل والنهار واختلافهما وإيلاج أحدهما في الآخر حتى يطول هذا ويقصر هذا ثم يقصر هذا ويطول هذا وارتفاع السماء واتساعها وحسنها وزينتها وما أنزل الله منها من مطر فأحيا به الأرض بعد موتها وأخرج فيها من أفانين الثمار والزروع والأزاهير وصنوف النبات وما ذرأ فيها من دواب مختلفة الأشكال والألوان والمنافع وما فيها من جبال وسهول وقفار وعمران وخراب; وما في البحر من العجائب والأمواج وهو مع هذا مسخر مذلل للسالكين يحمل سفنهم ويجري بها برفق بتسخير القدير لا إله إلا هو ولا رب سواه. وقوله "وما تغني الآيات والنذر عن قوم لا يؤمنون" أي وأي شيء تغني الآيات السماوية والأرضية والرسل بآياتها وحججها وبراهينها الدالة على صدقها عن قوم لا يؤمنون كقوله "إن الذين حقت عليهم كلمة ربك لا يؤمنون" الآية.

The Command to reflect upon the Creation of the Heavens and the Earth Allah, the Exalted, guides His servants to reflect upon His blessings. What Allah has created in the heavens and the earth is part of the clear signs for those who possess correct understanding. From that which is in the heavens are the luminous stars, the firmaments, the moving planetary bodies, the sun and the moon. This also includes the night and day, their alternating, and their merging so that one is long and the other is short. Then they alternate (through the year) so that the long one becomes short and the short one becomes long. Likewise, from the signs in the heavens is the rising of the sun, its vastness, its beauty and its adornment. Also, whatever rain that Allah sends down from the heavens, thereby bringing the earth to life after its death, and causing various types of fruits, crops, flowers and plants to grow, is from its signs. Whatever Allah creates in the earth from the various species of beasts, with their differing colors and benefits (for man), are signs. The mountains, plains, deserts, civilizations, structures and barren lands of the earth are signs. Then there are the wonders of the sea and its waves. Yet, it still has been made subservient and submissive to those who travel upon its surface. It carries their ships, allowing them to traverse upon it with ease. This is all under the control of the Most Able; there is no God worthy of worship except Him and there is no true Lord other than Him. Concerning Allah's statement, وَمَا تُغْنِى الآيَـتُ وَالنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٍ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُونَ (But neither Ayat nor warners benefit those who do not believe.) This means, `What thing will benefit such disbelieving people besides the heavenly and earthly signs, and the Messengers with their miracles, proofs and evidences that clearly prove the truthfulness of their message' This is similar to Allah's statement, إِنَّ الَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ (Truly! Those against whom the Word of your Lord has been justified, will not believe.) 10:96 Concerning Allah's statement, فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلاَّ مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ (Then do they wait save for the likes of the days of men who passed away before them) This means, `Are these who reject you Muhammad ﷺ, waiting for the vengeance and torment like the Days of Allah, when He punished those who came before them of the previous nations that rejected their Messengers' قُلْ فَانْتَظِرُواْ إِنَّى مَعَكُمْ مِّنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَثُمَّ نُنَجِّى رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ ءامَنُواْ (Say: "Wait then, I am waiting with you among those who wait." Then We save Our Messengers and those who believe!) This means, `Verily, We destroy those who reject the Messengers.' كَذَلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نُنجِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (Thus it is incumbent upon Us to save the believers.) This means that this is a right that Allah, the Exalted, has obligated upon His Noble Self. This is similar to His statement, كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ (Your Lord has written (prescribed) mercy for Himself) 6:54

دعوت غور و فکر اللہ تعالیٰ کی نعمتوں میں اس کی قدرتوں میں اس کی پیدا کردہ نشانیوں میں غور و فکر کرو۔ آسمان و زمین اور ان کے اندر کی نشانیاں بیشمار ہیں۔ ستارے سورج، چاند رات دن اور ان کا اختلاف کبھی دن کی کمی، کبھی راتوں کا چھوٹا ہوجانا، آسمانوں کی بلندی ان کی چوڑائی ان کا حسن وزینت اس سے بارش برسانا اس بارش سے زمین کا ہرا بھرا ہوجانا اس میں طرح طرح کے پھل پھول کا پیدا ہونا، اناج اور کھیتی کا اگنا، مختلف قسم کے جانوروں کا اس میں پھیلا ہوا ہونا، جن کی شکلیں جدا گانہ، جن کے نفع الگ الگ جن کے رنگ الگ الگ، دریاؤں میں عجائبات کا پایا جانا، ان میں طرح طرح کی ہزارہا قسم کی مخلوق کا ہونا، ان میں چھوٹی بڑی کشتیوں کا چلنا، یہ اس رب قدیر کی قدرتوں کے نشان کیا تمہاری رہبری، اس کی توحید اس کی جلالت اس کی عظمت اس کی یگانگت اس کی وحدت اس کی عبادت، اس کی اطاعت، اس کی ملکیت کی طرف نہیں کرتی ؟ یقین مانو نہ اس کے سوا کوئی پروردگار، نہ اس کے سوا کوئی لائق عبادت ہے درحقیقت بےایمانوں کے لیے اس سے زیادہ نشانیاں بھی بےسود ہیں۔ آسمان انکے سر پر اور زمین انکے قدموں میں رسول ﷺ ان کے سامنے، دلیل و سند ان کے آگے، لیکن یہ ہیں کہ ٹس سے مس نہیں ہوتے۔ ان پر کلمہ عذاب صادق آچکا ہے۔ یہ تو عذاب کے آجانے سے پہلے مومن نہیں ہوں گے۔ ظاہر ہے کہ یہ لوگ اس عذاب کے اور انہی کٹھن دنوں کے منتظر ہیں جو ان سے پہلے کے لوگوں پر ان کی بد اعمالیوں کی وجہ سے گزر چکے ہیں۔ اچھا انہیں انتظار کرنے دے اور تو بھی انہیں اعلان کر کے منتظر رہ۔ انہیں ابھی معلوم ہوجائے گا۔ یہ دیکھ لیں گے کہ ہم اپنے رسولوں اور سچے غلاموں کو نجات دیں گے۔ یہ ہم نے خود اپنے نفس کریم پر واجب کرلیا ہے۔ جیسے آیت میں ہے کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے اپنے نفس پر رحمت لکھ لی ہے۔ بخاری مسلم کی حدیث میں ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ایک کتاب لکھی ہے جو اس کے پاس عرش کے اوپر ہے کہ میری رحمت میرے غضب پر غالب آچکی ہے۔
